XX 2008 - Knot Sticks 8x12 Pearl Print

in 2008 I was doing a lot of work with Vic Firth which is exactly who this photo was for. This was one of those insane 30 second shoots. They wanted to do the photos by their new drums which had arrived that day, so i set up the lights, got my test shot with an assistant, then the band came in, they couldnt hear me at all for posing due to their in ears being in their masks. I posed this first shot, took the photo, looked down, it looked great, this is the first photo, I took another 6 or 8 photos, looked down one more time at the camera to check a light, looked up, the drums were gone, on stage, the guys were gone, and my lights were moved by their crew out of the way, all in the time it took me to look down and look up, like one of those batman disappearing act scenes, it was insane, but we got the shot.
