Anatomy of a Shoot Los Angeles Ticket 5.18

Before a photographer takes the shot they have to choose lighting and direct their subject. In Anatomy of a Shoot, Jeremy will take a deep dive into posing and lighting choices per artist/per look, while coming up with a custom lighting set for each artist on the fly, and explaining what poses work and what poses dont work per artist and lighting set and why. Students will then take over the set and have extended time to build their own set with the lighting of their choice from the weekend and then photograph the subject with extended time to direct, pose, and shoot while Jeremy stands by to give advice and feedback during the shoot (optional). Each student will take turns as the photographer, while other students assist, getting hands on experience with different lighting, stands, and changing settings for each set. Each student will have multiple chances to photograph different sets (that they build) and subjects though out the day.

10:00 a.m – 7:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m. – Intro to Jeremy Saffer

10:15 a.m. – Anatomy of a shoot slideshow

11:00 a.m. – hands on gear demo with build/breakdown

12:00 p.m. – Break / Lunch (Time may vary)

12:30 p.m. – Pre-shoot QnA with guest/band.

1:00 p.m. – Live Shoot: Jeremy photographs guest bands/models

2:00 p.m. – Live Shoot: Students build their own sets and photograph the bands

6:00 p.m. – Wrap up/final band QnA/feedback

7:00 p.m. – end

This is an ALL AGES event open to any photographers (pro, amateur, hobby, etc)
